It actually appeared on Apple press releases before Steve Jobs died. The good news for Apple fans is that this description doesn't post-date Steve Jobs. And it would be hard to imagine a less-inspiring, more prosaic description of what Apple is (or used to be) all about. It's not a mission statement so much as a list of product lines. If that really is Apple's "mission statement," it is indeed pretty lame.
